Why we do not use accessibility overlay widgets
Accessibility overlay products add a JavaScript layer on top of existing HTML but do not fix the underlying code. Screen readers still encounter the original inaccessible markup, meaning the overlay provides a false appearance of compliance while failing real users. We fix accessibility at the source code level - semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, color contrast, keyboard handling, and focus management - so that every user, including those relying on assistive technologies, gets a genuinely usable experience.
Accessible features on this site.
These features are implemented directly in the code, not added by a third-party widget.
Full keyboard navigation
Every interactive element on the site is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone. Tab order is logical, focus never gets trapped, and the Escape key closes any open overlays.
Visible focus indicators
A 2px brand-red focus ring is visible on every focused element for keyboard and switch-access users, meeting the 3:1 contrast ratio required by WCAG 2.1.
Screen reader support
Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), ARIA labels, live regions for dynamic content, and descriptive alternative text on all informational images.
Color contrast compliance
All text meets or exceeds the WCAG 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components, in both light and dark themes.
Reduced-motion support
All animations and transitions are suppressed when the user has enabled "reduce motion" in their operating system preferences, including hero animations, shimmer effects, and scroll reveals.
Skip navigation link
A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the repeated navigation header.
Accessible forms
Every form field has a programmatically associated label, helpful inline error messages use role="alert" and aria-describedby, and required fields are indicated in text (not color alone).
Responsive and zoomable
The layout is fully responsive and remains usable at up to 400% zoom without content overlap or loss of functionality, supporting users with low vision.
Accessibility is not optional.
The Accident Doctor serves commercial drivers, accident survivors, and patients across the Phoenix Valley. Many of our patients may have visual, motor, or cognitive disabilities. Digital accessibility ensures every patient can book an appointment, find a clinic, and access health information on equal terms.
We are committed to maintaining conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and to ongoing remediation of any issues identified through user feedback or automated testing.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Primary technical conformance target, referenced by the DOJ as the ADA web standard.
ADA Title III
Web accessibility for public accommodations including healthcare providers.
Section 508
Federal accessibility standard for electronic and information technology.

The interactive SVG map widget on the Locations page is a decorative routing visualization. A fully text-based clinic directory with addresses, hours, and phone numbers is available on the same page and in the site footer for users who cannot access the map.
The appointment booking form is currently a front-end simulation. Confirmed bookings must be made by phone or text at (602) 348-5484.
Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you may file a complaint with the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or contact the US Access Board.
